METRO

As featured in Metro: Sustainable swaps for World Earth Day 2026

To mark Earth Day, Metro highlighted Ouverture London as part of its edit of everyday sustainable swaps, featuring our Evoking Côtes de Provence candle as a more considered approach to home fragrance.

Recognising the environmental impact of traditional candles, the feature spotlighted Ouverture London’s use of ProTerra-certified soy wax, lead-free cotton wicks, and refillable engraved metal vessels designed to be used again and again.

Evoking Côtes de Provence, inspired by its namesake region, combines notes of pink grapefruit, soft florals, sea salt, and sun-bleached woods, creating a scent that captures a sense of place while reflecting a commitment to longer-lasting, more sustainable home fragrance.

Ouverture London was selected for Mother+’s Best Christmas Gifts for the Home, with one of our luxury candles, Evoking Margaux, described as “a deep, woody, smoky scent housed in a hand-engraved brass vessel, a moody, sophisticated candle for scent obsessives.”

Mother+ is a London-based digital magazine offering a thoughtful weekly edit of culture, style, home, and modern life, created for women who see motherhood as part of a richer, more expansive identity.

Inspired by the Margaux region of Bordeaux, this deep, enveloping scent invites busy mothers (and anyone else) to pause, ground themselves, and take a moment.

Ouverture London has been recognised in Good Housekeeping’s Best Wine Gifts 2025, with our Evoking Sancerre candle selected as a top choice for wine lovers.

"Not all wine gifts need to be imbibed"

The guide is curated by Good Housekeeping’s senior food and drink editor, Stacey Smith, and draws on the Good Housekeeping Institute’s Taste Approved panel, where WSET-accredited testers assess products for quality, aroma, flavour, and presentation.

Evoking Sancerre is inspired by the landscape and culture of this iconic French wine region, designed to capture the fresh, mineral, and green character of the Loire Valley through scent.

"Fresh, green and citrus-y, the home scent comes in a beautiful engraved brass holder."
