About Côtes de Provence
The Côtes de Provence wine region, stretching across sun-soaked hills and shimmering Mediterranean coastline, is the heartland of France’s most beloved rosés with its delicate, pale-hued wines.
Legend has it that the vines of Provence were first planted by the ancient Greeks over 2,600 years ago, making it France’s oldest wine-producing region. But perhaps the most charming tale comes from the Middle Ages, when the Knights Templar, returning from the Crusades, established vineyards here to cultivate wines fit for nobility. It’s said that these warrior-monks, known for their discipline and devotion, helped refine winemaking in Provence, elevating the rosés that would one day become world-famous.
