About Hermitage

The Hermitage wine region is perched on the steep, sun-drenched slopes above the Rhône River and although it spans just over 130 hectares its reputation looms large. 

Legend has it that a 13th-century knight, returning from the Crusades, chose to live as a hermit on the region’s hills, giving the area its name. Over centuries, Hermitage wines gained royal and international prestige, even gracing the tables of Russian tsars. Today, the region remains a benchmark for Syrah and a treasure trove for collectors, offering wines that balance power, elegance, and a distinct sense of place.
