About Margaux
The Margaux wine region, nestled in Bordeaux’s southernmost appellation of the Médoc. Margaux benefits from a unique terroir of deep gravelly soils that provide excellent drainage, forcing the vines to dig deep for nutrients. This results in wines that are both powerful and graceful—hallmarks of the Cabernet Sauvignon-led blends that define the region.
One of the most enduring legends of Margaux revolves around its most famous estate, Château Margaux. In the 18th century, the estate’s wines had already gained a reputation for excellence, but it was a fateful royal endorsement that cemented its status. When Thomas Jefferson, then the American ambassador to France and an avid wine lover, visited Bordeaux in 1787, he declared Château Margaux to be among the finest wines in the world. His notes and purchases contributed to the château’s growing prestige, and centuries later, bottles from exceptional vintages are still treasured by collectors.

Care
Never leave burning candles unattended. As the vessel is made from metal (brass) it may get hot. Do not place onto anything flammable. Place candle onto a coaster when in use. Do no touch when lit. Allow to cool before touching. Keep away from children.
See our candle care guide for more information
A note on craftmanship
Every Ouverture London candle is hand-poured in small batches using natural, undyed waxes and high concentrations of fine fragrance - housed in our signature pure brass vessels. Because we embrace thoughtful, preservative-free materials and artisanal methods, you may notice subtle variations from piece to piece.
This might include gentle changes in wax colour, a softly uneven surface, or a natural patina forming on the brass over time. These are not flaws - they’re quiet signatures of craftsmanship. Each candle is unique by design, and none of these natural shifts affect the quality or beauty of the burn.
For our curated edit pieces Each pieces the same care and intention that shapes our own collections.
We work with makers and objects that share our sensibility, thoughtful materials, considered production, and a quiet sense of atmosphere. Many of these pieces are produced in small batches or by hand, which means subtle variations are to be expected.
You may notice gentle differences in finish, tone, or texture from one piece to another. These are not imperfections, but part of the character of the object itself, shaped by process, material, and time.
